Man or woman – who can really tell?
Our motto since the 1970s – a wink to the audience, not a question anyone has to answer. On our stage, everyone is simply fabulous.
Since 1973 the Pulverfass has stood for queer cabaret in Hamburg – today it is the oldest continuously running queer cabaret in the world. Our own house, our own ensemble, our own shows. We owe our name to our first home on Pulverteich in St. Georg; today our address is Reeperbahn 147.
On stage: drag – “Travestie”, our DNA – plus acrobatics, live singing, dance, comedy, burlesque and boylesque with international artists. Entertainment with attitude, but without the wagging finger. Because here, tradition is no museum piece. It gets a new costume on a regular basis.

Here you don’t sit in a theatre row but at a table. Throughout the show our service team brings food and drinks right to your seat – from our own restaurant kitchen.

Good to know
Is it a drag show?
Drag – in German “Travestie” – has been our root since 1973. Today we are a queer cabaret: drag, plus burlesque and boylesque, live singing, dance, comedy and acrobatics, with international artists and changing in-house productions.
Can I enjoy the show without speaking German?
The show is hosted in German. Singing, dance and acrobatics are almost always performed to English-language songs – many international guests love the show. If you want to follow every word of the hosting, though, some German helps.
Is there a dress code?
No, there’s no set dress code. Dressed up, covered in glitter or completely relaxed – come as you feel comfortable.
When does the show start?
Thursday to Monday at 7 PM, plus an 11 PM late show on Fridays and Saturdays. Doors open at 6 PM for the 7 PM show (sometimes a little later, depending on the number of guests); for the late show the time is on your ticket. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts so we can seat everyone in time. The show runs about 2 hours plus a 20-minute interval. Admission 18+.
Can I eat during the show?
Yes – and it’s worth it. All guests sit at tables, and our service team serves you at your seat throughout the show, with food from our own restaurant kitchen. Best book the 3-course show menu together with your ticket: €44 in advance instead of €49 on the night.
Can I choose my seat?
You book a category – Diamond, Rhinestone or Sequin – not a specific seat. Our host shows you to your table on the night. If you book together, you sit together. Booked separately but want to sit together? Let us know in advance: info@pulverfasscabaret.de or +49 40 24 97 91.
Is there a box office?
Yes. Our box office opens at 5 PM on every show day. The easiest way to get your tickets is online in advance – where you can also see straight away what’s still available.
Is there a minimum spend?
No. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price – you simply order from our service team in the auditorium.
What is the UnFassBar?
Our own bar and a glamorous restaurant – Thursday to Monday from 5 PM, with cocktails and food from our own kitchen. Before the show, after the finale or without seeing the show at all. And a queer safe space: come as you are.
Coming as a group of ten or more?
Birthday, hen or stag party, company event? For ten or more people, please write to us before booking at juliane@pulverfass.de – with your preferred date, number of guests and occasion. We’ll then arrange the seats for your group.
